Beginning at the door of one’s home, sage is burnt and the house ‘scrubbed’ with sage smoke. The powerful aroma and smoke clear out ‘old air’ and negative energy from past experiences.Â
- Has amazing antibacterial properties when burned in a larger spaces, it can reduce the bacteria in the air by as much as 90%,
- Stress and Anxiety – Some of the active ingredients of sage that are released when burnt are known to lower feelings of stress and tension, thus helping to lower chronic anxiety and related symptoms
- Sinus Infections – If you burn white sage and inhale some of the smoke, be aware that it contains eucalyptol. It is an antioxidant compound that helps to eliminate pathogens and reduce inflammation in your sinuses. It can also have a similar effect on respiratory infections when consumed as a tea.Â
Directions for use.
Hold your bundle horizontally or at an angle so the flame will naturally travel up/alongside/inside the bundle just a little bit. You want that flame to hit the same area for a period of time to get it going. Then blow it out then let it ember.
Take the stick around your area and allow the smoke to enter the corners, doorways and around the rooms.
Most smudges will stop smoldering after a couple of minutes. You may need to relight the bundle frequently but that is just a natural characteristic of smudges and it gets easier with experience. Keep in a fire proof tray. Don’t leave unattended.
Very well worth the money.
