Not all Shea butters are equal

Not all Shea butters are equal

Yessssss All shea butters are deffo not equal. Not all shea butters are equal in terms of quality, purity, and effectiveness. The quality and properties of shea butter can vary depending on several factors such as the location where the shea nuts are sourced, the method of extraction, the processing techniques used and the time it takes from production to reach the end user.

Shea butter that is produced using traditional methods by hand is often considered to be of higher quality than shea butter that is produced using modern industrial methods. Traditional shea butter is usually extracted using water and without the use of chemicals or solvents, which can affect the purity and effectiveness of the butter.

It is also important to consider the grade of shea butter when evaluating its quality. Shea butter is graded based on its purity and colour, with grade A shea butter being the purest and lightest in colour. Grade B shea butter may contain impurities and have a darker colour

Also most of the commercial shea butters will sit in ware houses in west Africa for long periods of time before they are exported. And then when they arrive at their final destination will sit again for extended periods. By the time they reach the end user they are not as fresh and in a lot of case started to process to going Rancid.

Unrefined Shea butter has a vey distinct smell that many cannot tell the difference between good and not so good shea butters so always look for a trusted source.

Shea butter can also vary in terms of its effectiveness depending on the level of vitamins, minerals, and other important compounds it contains. Shea butter that is raw and unrefined is believed to be the most effective due to its high levels of vitamins and minerals and fats.

In summary, it is important to choose high-quality shea butter that is pure, unrefined, and produced using traditional methods to get the maximum benefits.
